  34. Lets try and make things simple for anyone who wishes to retrieve
  35. packets from Amber's Computer Factory.
  36.  
  37. For Sysops who would like to retrieve USMail from CENTRAL CA:
  38.  
  39. Configuration-
  40. Amber's Computer Factory is setup very similar to 'Bart's BBS'.  All a
  41. sysop has to do is apply Barts installation instructions to our board
  42. and you should be up and running.  We run under PCBoard 14.5 and Have
  43. QMAIL4 for generating mail packets (same as Bart).  Also, the USMail
  44. Conference numbers, on our BBS, directly correlates to the message base
  45. number's on Bart's BBS (i.e. Confernce #110 on Barts = Conference #110
  46. on Amber's).  I hope this will keep things simple for syops who will be
  47. changing to our board.

  49. Access-
  50. To download USMail packets from Amber's Computer Factory, we just need
  51. the approval from Bart.  Simply call Bart's BBS and let him know you
  52. would like to download packets from Amber's BBS.  As soon as Bart gives
  53. us the green light, we will grant USMail download access and you can
  54. start retrieving mail.

  56. After calling Bart's BBS and requesting USMail access, you can call
  57. Amber's BBS and setup a new account.  When you log on to Amber's
  58. Computer Factory, you will notice that we are a subscription board.
  59. Simply ignore the BBS subscription charges and answer all the
  60. traditional BBS questions.  After getting in to the system, leave a
  61. message to the Sysop stating that you are a USMail Node and that you
  62. would like to retrieve mail packets from us. If Bart has already posted
  63. an approval to us, you should have a free account that will allow mail
  64. retrieval with 24 hours.. It's as simple as that!!!

  66. Amber's Computer Factory is online 24hrs a day 7 days a week and you
  67. shouldn't have any problem accessing one of our 5 lines.

  70. Line #1 805-528-4154 USR 14.4 Dual Standard.  This line hunts to line #2

  72. Line #2 805-528-4155 14.4 V32bis.  This is not an HST!

  76. Line #4 805-528-4555 9600 v29 This line hunts to line #5

  80. The modems on line 3 & 4 will soon be swapped with each other.   This
  81. will guarantee that a 9600 CSP will answer on the 4555 number (nice for
  82. those of you who have CSP modems and would like echo mail).

  84. A word of caution:  Only telephone line #1 is HST compatable.  I don't
  85. recommend any HST callers putting their system on auto pilot since you
  86. could potentially connect at 2400 if the 805-528-4154 line is busy.  HST
  87. retrievals should be monitored!!!
